Okay, I haven’t actually seen Akira yet, but from everything that I’ve heard about it . . . remaking it into a live-action, PG-13 film starring Zac Efron . . . this would be a sign of the end of the times, no? Run for your lives? Weep for your children? The Good Geek Ship Lollipop is going down, kids. Game over, man, GAME OVER!
Let’s hope this one stays at rumor stage.
The problem remains that they are remaking Akira. I’m not sure that Zac Effron is really that much of an issue. The guy is clearly dying for a role that’s going to bring him into the mainstream and stop people going “oh no, the High School Musical kid” and this could really be the role to do that for him.
Check out “Me and Orson Welles”. Great movie and the lack of recognition it’s received is shocking. Naturally the main wow factor of the movie comes from Christian McKay with his performance as Orson Welles, but Zac does not feel like the weak link in the chain.
That’s fair. Everyone has to break out sometime . . . though this wasn’t exactly the way I was picturing for Zac Efron. Pg-13, though? Again, I haven’t seen it, but from everything I’ve heard, it’s NOT a PG-13 film.
Yeah it’s not… I own it… and PG-13, errr. People graphicly explode, while naked.
Graphically explode, while naked. Excellent. : )
