“RELEASE THE KRAKEN!”
Sarcasm does come with its downsides. Last week, while gently mocking the trailer for Wrath of the Titans, I mentioned that I would likely never watch the movie, as I’d never bothered to see the first one. The very next … Continue reading

My friend, Dave, had his birthday last week. We went to go see Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Despite enjoying the hell out of the first movie, I couldn’t help but feel like this one might end up being … Continue reading

2011 isn’t quite over yet, but it’s close. And I’ll be honest: I kind of gave up on my sci-fi challenge way back in October. I was already behind, see, and there were so many bad horror movies to watch … Continue reading

Coconuts! Flesh Wounds! Knights Who Say NI!
Enough of Christmas movies. Let’s move somewhere else, shall we? How about . . . England? I’m afraid that today’s poll will be of no use to you Monty Python haters out there. Better luck next week. But for those … Continue reading

Wait . . . THAT’s Not In the Spirit of the Holiday . . .
Scrooge was your favorite traditional Christmas film. Your favorite not-quite-so-traditional Christmas film? The Nightmare Before Christmas! Jack Skellington and the citizens of Halloweentown had this one in the bag almost as soon as the poll started. Though Die Hard tried for a … Continue reading

“I Wanna Make You Pancakes.”
Comedies about cancer are a hard sell. Honestly, 50/50 is more of a dramedy than anything else, but it’s a good deal funnier than most movies about cancer, I’ll give it that. Also, it’s really very good.
