10/27/10: Opening Credits

If you haven’t watched the opening credits for Quantum Leap in awhile (or at all) please, please watch them. It creates the perfect blend of nostalgia and total mockery for you to enjoy.

God, I miss real opening credits.

Wow, the first half of that video actually made me want to watch the show. It reminded me of Sliders, but with a slightly more interesting premise. But then the second half…I don’t know. The music was all off. It sounds like they stole it from a Learn to Speak English instructional video.

    • I’m surprised you’ve never seen Quantum Leap before. I think it’s worth a guilty pleasure watch. It was all the geek rage back in the day, and from what I remember, pretty fun. Of I course, I was all of eight when the show ended, so, you know. There’s a lot of Scott Bakula saying, “Oh boy,” and wearing a dress. He dons the lady wear A LOT. There were also some pretty smart ideas, I think, and an ending that, if not entirely uplifting, beat the HELL out of how Sliders ended. My God. I think that’s one of my least favorite series finales of all time.

Errr, yes, that music is special. I burst out giggling when I watched this the other day.

Michael and I watched the first three episodes before getting distracted. The first episode is actually pretty boring with lots of needless stock footage. We were surprised it got picked up! Oh, and the original opening credits are different. I don’t know if I want to scream with laughter or hide my face while they’re on…
