If you’re one of those people who bemoans Hollywood’s lack of originality, rejoice! io9 has compiled a list of upcoming or planned science fiction, fantasy, and horror movies that are NOT prequels, sequels, or remakes. There’s actually quite a lot of them.

The ones I’m most interested in at the moment? (Always add at the moment. Life changes too quickly for hard absolutes.)

    Hotel Transylvania – Genndy Tartovsky, animator extraordinaire!
    Wreck-It Ralph – Comedy about a videogame villain who wants to be a hero. And Bowser is in it!
    Untitled Henry Sellick Film – His next film after Coraline. YAY!
    Pacific Rim – Guillermo Del Toro does Neon Genesis Evangelion.
